B.E. Brian Eric…

A craft grown out of admiration and passion for the art of acting, Brian Eric is indeed a light destined to shine bright. As he gains credibility by getting his feet wet in the industry, this soon-to-be star keeps his eye on the goal of becoming the next great actor of our time.

Born Brian Eric Alexander on New Year’s Day, Brian Eric grew up in Prince George’s County, the richest African-American county in the nation. Taking his education seriously, Brian Eric excelled in academics and received his high school diploma from Oxon Hill High School’s Talented and Gifted program. His commitment and dedication to the school’s Student Government Association and tennis team exemplified his well-roundedness.

He continued his education at Morgan State University (MSU), a historically black institution in Baltimore, Md. While there, Brian Eric continued to participate in many extra-curricular activities (one of which included starring in the play “Twilight: Los Angeles 1992”) while keeping a solid grade point average. He also interned with T.Ray Media and Marketing Solutions and the Arbitron Media Symposium, where he worked directly with Radio One, Radio Disney, and other notable cable and broadcast promoters. The MSU Communication Studies department also benefited from Brian Eric’s relationship with these important companies, as he was responsible for bringing awareness and importance of the Nielsen and Arbitron ratings systems to a campus and department that never before had given them recognition in their curriculum. Brian Eric graduated in May 2005 with a degree in Communication Studies (Broadcast Journalism) and Theater Arts.

Following graduation from MSU, Brian Eric quickly got to work building relationships and making a strong name for himself within the acting community. He started off strong and landed an Assistant Casting Director position with Central Casting, where he helped book and kept track of actors appearing in “The Sentinel”, “Flags of Our Fathers”, and “Failure to Launch”. Brian Eric also worked as an Assistant Casting Director for the Warner Brothers feature film, “The Visiting”. In addition to mastering the art of casting, Brian Eric has experience in production; working as a Production Assistant for NBC Universal’s “Treasure Hunters” reality show and Touchstone Television’s “Twenty Questions” pilot. His duties included assisting the production manager, coordinators, and crew with day to day operations; handling financial obligations of the production office; performing Station 12(s) and Roster Clearances for Union crew members; and distributing and collating scripts in accordance with the Walt Disney color revision guidelines.

Given his knowledge and expertise in casting and production, it only made sense for Brian Eric to venture into other areas of the television and film industry. In May 2006, he became the Associate Researcher for Retirement Living Television, LLC. In conducting research for the talk show “The Voice”, Brian Eric researched and developed segment content for shows, coordinated and cleared all individuals and locations for functioning set and field locations, and wrote TV Guide descriptions of the current shows to air.

While getting real experience and learning all he could about the “world behind the scenes”, Brian Eric landed roles on a host of major films and television shows. Viewers can spot him in Touchstone Picture’s “Ladder 49” and “National Treasures”, and Warner Brothers films, “Syriana”, “Flags of our Father”, and “The Visiting”. His television resume includes spots on Universal Television’s “The District” and hit HBO Production series, “The Wire”.

By taking on major roles behind and in front of the camera, Brian Eric has armed himself with an arsenal of know-how and talent that can only benefit those who work with him. In an industry where the less focused become easily distracted and each minute is more competitive than the next, Brian Eric will undoubtedly shine above the rest.
